The World Bodypainting Festival, world's biggest and most important bodypainting event, took recently place in Seeboden at Lake Millstatt (Carinthia). The preparations for the festival 2011 are actively running, since it looks like that Seeboden as the festival's location will not be able to hold the event next year.

The Festival, which takes place October 7-10, 2010, is hosted by and benefits the Food Bank For New York City and Share Our Strength®.

The Carnival of Brazil, properly spelled "Carnaval" in Portuguese, is an annual festival in Brazil held forty days before Easter.

Though it probably had much earlier roots, the Carnival in Venice was supposedly first recorded in 1296, when the Senate of the Republic issued an edict declaring the day before Lent as a public holiday. Much as in other cities, Medieval and Renaissance Venetians appear to have celebrated Carnival in several guises.

Art Basel Miami Beach is an annual contemporary art art exhibition held in Miami, Florida, and is a sister event to Art Basel in Switzerland. Art Basel Miami Beach has been held annually since 2002, has been held throughout the city each December. Along with adjoining fairs and associated events, Art Basel Miami Beach has eclipsed the original Art Basel in size, popularity, if not importance.

Frieze Art Fair is an international contemporary art fair that takes place every October in London's Regent's Park. The fair is staged by Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover, the publishers of frieze magazine.
